DHI vs PRP Hair Treatment in Tirana

Most hair transplant content is written for men — yet hair loss affects an estimated one in three women at some point in life, and female hair restoration is one of the fastest-growing treatments at Nouvelle Clinique in Tirana. This guide covers what makes a hair transplant for women different: the causes we treat, who is a good candidate, the techniques that work best, and what it costs in Albania.

Can women get a hair transplant?

Yes — provided the type of hair loss is suitable. The key question is not gender but whether you have a stable donor area and a hair loss pattern that transplantation can address. That is why every female patient starts with a specialist assessment rather than a price quote.

Types of female hair loss we treat

The most common candidates for a female hair transplant are women with traction alopecia (thinning at the hairline or temples from years of tight hairstyles or extensions), a naturally high or uneven hairline they wish to lower or reshape, stable female-pattern thinning with a preserved donor area, and scarring from injuries, surgery or burns. Diffuse thinning across the whole scalp responds less predictably to transplantation — in those cases we often recommend PRP therapy first, alone or while the pattern stabilises.

Why DHI is often preferred for women

For many female patients the deciding factor is simple: the shave. With DHI, smaller sessions can often be done without shaving the whole head — only a discreet strip of the donor area is trimmed and stays hidden under the surrounding hair. The Choi implanter also gives maximum control over angle and direction, which matters when blending new grafts into existing hair at the hairline or temples. For larger restorations, Sapphire FUE remains an option — our DHI vs Sapphire FUE guide explains the trade-offs.

What a female hair transplant costs in Albania

Pricing is the same as for men: €1,500–€3,000 depending on grafts and technique, with Nouvelle Clinique’s all-inclusive package at €2,500 covering the procedure, medications, hotel and airport transfers. The same procedure in Italy, Germany or the UK typically costs €6,000–€10,000+. Full pricing details are in our 2026 cost guide.

Recovery and results for women

Recovery follows the same path as for men — most patients are back to normal routines within days, with the shedding phase and regrowth described in our week-by-week recovery timeline. Longer hair actually helps here: it covers the treated area during the early weeks. Final density arrives at 12–15 months.

Questions fréquemment posées

Do I have to shave my head?

Often not. For smaller DHI sessions the donor trim is hidden under your existing hair, and the recipient area is not shaved. Large sessions may still require shaving — the consultation will tell you exactly what your case needs.

Is a hair transplant suitable for female-pattern hair loss?

Sometimes. If thinning is concentrated (hairline, temples, parting) and your donor area is dense and stable, yes. If thinning is diffuse across the scalp, transplantation may not be recommended — an honest clinic will tell you this at assessment rather than take the booking.

Can I combine a transplant with PRP?

Yes, and many female patients do: PRP supports the existing hair and the transplanted grafts. Some choose PRP alone as a first step.

Will people notice I had it done?

The early redness settles within days and longer hair covers the area. By the time regrowth appears (months 3–6), the change looks gradual and natural.

Why do women travel to Albania for this?

The combination of DHI expertise, no-full-shave options, Italian and English speaking staff, and prices a third of Western Europe — with a 4.9-star rating across 160+ Google reviews. Tirana is around 90 minutes from Rome or Milan.

Start with an honest assessment
